Multi Effect Distillation thermal vapor compression desalination plant is modeled and designed. User can assign the total plant produvtivity. The plant total power will be calculated based on the requested plant productivity. All designed aspects are calculated such as areas, flow rates, power, exergy, and costs. User shold assign the following data:
-Distillate productivity in m3/day.
-Seawater operating conditions (salinity & temperature).
-Brine blowdown temperature in the last effect.
-Steam ejector compression ratio.
-Motive steam pressure.
-Condenser efficiency and some design parameters such as shell diameter.
-Evaporator number of effects and demister design data.
-Evaporator design data such as shell diameter, and tubes diameter.
-Thermo-economic power cost for pumping units, $/kJ
**MatLab-SimuLink should be used to run the model.Copyright © 2007 by Mohamed A. Sharaf Eldean Ayoub
